In nursing we have a phrase, 'eating our young'. It is not a productive behavior. While the poster displayed some brash and likely misplaced confidence or even arrogance, perhaps she could have been more gently encouraged/exhorted. I think she was just exhibiting her excitement at her progress in this new and scary journey. I am sad that she is now deactivated. And yes, I too am a very new member. I have been lurking for a while and today decided to register because I have found, by and large, that this forum is very helpful, informative, and encouraging. I hope she is able to find encouragement and mentorship elsewhere.

I hope she is too, but I didn't see any negative or ungentle posts to her?

I'm sorry. Was my ovation not BIG ENOUGH? What she wrote was brilliant.

As I read it, I thought to myself that I would love to get her permission to post at my support group.  That was fantastic!

Highest 290, Banded - 248   Lowest 139 (too thin!). Comfort zone 155-165.

Happily banded since May 2006.  Regain of 28lbs 2013-14.  ALL GONE!

But some has returned! Up to 175, argh! Off we go again,
