tummy tuck and port replacement

I will be having a low profile port put in along with a tummy tuck next month. I wanted the body lift, but my doctor is afraid I won't heal well because of other medical issues. She wants to do the tummy tuck first, then in a 2nd procedure she will do the back side and my arms. And finally, if I am up for a 3rd procedure, she will do my inner thighs.

I have been banded for 6 years. Anyone else had this done? Thoughts? Advice?

Thanks! I am really excited, and a little nervous.

People have, but I don't know any personally. But you should ask this on the band and plastics board.

As Bette says! Glad your band has done well for you. Bette had hers over ten years ago and mine was put in over 8 years ago. Despite bad press, there are lots of us around!

Highest 290, Banded - 248   Lowest 139 (too thin!). Comfort zone 155-165.

Happily banded since May 2006.  Regain of 28lbs 2013-14.  ALL GONE!

But some has returned! Up to 175, argh! Off we go again,

Congrats!! A good plastic surgeon who has experience working with bariatric patients will know how to properly replace your port.

I had an anchor nearly a year ago. My advice would be to MAKE sure your PS is comfortable with moving the port if needed. I thought mine was but he was not and left it and subsequently I did not get the muscle tightening. I look great dont get me wrong he removed over 10 lbs of skin but I feel there could have been more done.

But the truth is you will see the port no matter what (well that is what I think) your tummy will be tight (or sort of tight) and it just plainly sticks out, I dont think any place is better than any other except I have heard that some ports are placed right where your abs crease when you sit and it hurts so as long as it is not on that line you should be good.

Good luck!!
