Hair Loss?
I started to lose 3 months out and it slowed around 6. The new hair was coming in so I fiurged I got off lightly (lots of straight hair before surgery). Now it's come back in with a texture I can't fiure out what to do with. I was never one of those people who wanted the curly hair others may have. I liked my straight hair! It does kinda hide the fact that I don't have as much as I used to. oh well, I will figure it out just like everything else in this process.
Wigs, scarves, haircuts....lots of ways to deal with it, should you need to.
good luck.
My friends have had success with new hair growth by taking biotin, vitamin D3, and zinc. It doesn't prevent the loss, but it promotes the regrowth. Hope that helps! I am still pre-op and am dreading losing my hair, so I've been studying this through my friends' experiences and just researching. Fingers crossed that I don't end up bald!

I'm down a little over 100lbs and I'm 9 months out and I've lost a TON of hair. It has recently slowed but I've taken the 10,000 mcg of Biotin a day (5k 2x a day) and all my vitamins, my protein, the vitamin D3 and the whole 9 yards. I did everything that everyone told me to do and it was still falling out. My labs look good so I don't know what to say. I'm not bald but my hair is so super thin that I started using Nioxin as recommended by my hairstylist. Get the vitamins and protein in first and if that doesn't do it, then definitely get some stuff for your hair - that would be my recommendation. I did it and its slowly growing back (I have wispys by my face and it looks awful but its hair regrowth which is good). Plus, the Nioxin helps with thickening your hair and just a supplemental to all the other vitamins and protein.
I hope that helps! :)

Fear not, I have yet to see of anyone going totally bald! Maybe at worst I've heard of a few people getting fairly thin on top, but you can get root spray or tease it a bit to cover up, no problems.
I have very fine, straight hair that I wear in a pixie cut. I started noticing some thin patches at about 3 months out, so I got some styling putty and muss it through my hair to look a little shaggy. Low effort, and I could move things around to hide the thinner bits. It's worked well, and I feel like I don't have to stress out about it!
