Welcome to OH.  Congrats on your weight loss!  You've done a great job - keep it up!  Every pound you lose now will make surgery that much easier.

Awesome job!  My highest weight was 447.  Today, I weighed in at 168.  I have done extremely well with my sleeve, but I am extremely compliant and follow my plan to a "T".  My mantra is "100% on Plan - 100% of the time"  I love my sleeve.  :)

Welcome to OH!  My highest weight was 450lbs. I now weigh 363lbs and planning to have the sleeve done sometime in the next two months. I have been struggling a little lately with weight loss since surgeon wants me to lose 10 pounds before surgery and for some reason I've been maintaining 363 for 3 months now.

Congrats on your weight loss so far and good luck on surgery.

That is an awesome weight loss. I had my sleeve done just over 2 weeks ago and I am loving it. Originally went into surgery for the Biliopancreatic Diversion/Duodenal Switch as it has such a success rate of losing the most weight. (My pre-op weight was 395) I was able to have a laproscopic sleeve surgery. My surgeon observed once I was in surgery that I had cirrhosis (scarring) of the liver. He biopsied it and it was due to fatty tissue surrounding the liver which is very normal with people who have BMI's over 50. I am very happy with my sleeve and have lost 36 lbs so far. My surgeon reassured me at my first follow-up that the sleeve can attain a large amount of weight loss. (Knowing my track record with weight loss, I would still like to do the whole procedure as I am petrified of regaining a bunch of weight.) My surgeon reassured me that it was a possibility in 6-9 months when my weight loss slows down and there is a significant amount of fatty tissue lost around the liver. At that time I will see a liver specialist to verify whether my liver is healthy enough to undergo a malabsorbant procedure (At this time he said that all tests done on the biopsy indicated that I would most likely be able to do it. )

Sorry--long winded. It is good that you are discussing your options with your surgeon. I, personally, think that the sleeve is a great option. It may be enough of a change for you, or if you want, later on you can further advance to other options. Whatever you chooses, I wish you the best in your journey. Am glad you are a friend.
