Hi, I had my surgery at the age of sixty. After thirty years of being overweight, I decided to take charge of ME, so I have the rest of my life. Had a great Dr, went through surgery and recovery with nothing unusual. Am a little slow losing, but was on the lower end of the scale for this operation. Am almost down 50 lbs in just over three months. Couldn't be happier. Just wish I had done it earlier. Good luck.

thank you! I have about 50-60 to loose and am going to Mexico. I am not telling anyone, so I will need some support!

I'm 62- just had vsg a month ago. No one mentioned my age ever. Go for it! You'll be glad you did!

It hasn't been a breeze but not any more difficult than anyone else. No trouble getting my water or protein in. No major pain post op. And today I joined a gym to get this old body shaking!😂. So happy I did it!

I had mine at 64 a year ago.  It is amazing how much better I feel and how many medications I am off of.  I did trade all those medications for vitamins and calcium but that is fine.  Be sure your primary Dr. is supportive of your decision since he will be the one to order your follow up labs and such.

Hi botrin,  my surgery is scheduled for July 14th.  I'll turn 63 next month. I don't think this will be easy...... But not because of my age.  My doctors are all behind this surgery as it will improve my life and probably add years!  Don't worry about your age. Go for it!! Good luck!!!   Barbara

I was 66 when I had my rny.

Tomorrow is my 6 month surgiversary and I have my fingers crossed that I might hit the 100 lb lost mark but it will probably be closer to the 96-97 range.

I've had no problems or pain, go to the gym four times a week and have more energy than I have had in years.

Go for it!
