Ditto the premier protein from costco. I've been drinking them for years prior to my surgery as a meal replacement just because I like them. I prefer the chocolate or the new strawberry and cream. They cost $25 and have 30 grams protein per drink. They're also very filling.

I love Celebrate Vitamins ENS... protein plus some vits it's not cheap but it's really tasty (Vanilla Cake Batter, Chocolate Milk are my favs) Whey protein varies in quality for sure so big cheap bags seem like a deal but not if you can't gag it down. You know though protein is one of those individual taste things... some people's favs are hideous to me and I'm sure vice versa. One of those try it and see things. Some companies have sample packets or travel packets.

Also... toss some Greek yogurt or Cottage Cheese in your shake... added protein. I love this one: http://theworldaccordingtoeggface.blogspot.com/2009/07/cherr y-heaven.html it's got cottage cheese in it nut I swear you would never know. Here's a few other ideas to change them up: http://www.pinterest.com/eggface/protein-shakes-and-smoothie s/ Hope they help.

I also love the Syntrax Nectar and Syntrax Matrix products. Someone gave me samples of 5 different flavors for free, so that saved me a LOT of potentially expensive trial and error. I also found a website that is selling a sample pack of 15 full serving packets of Syntrax Nectar for S15 + S1.99 S+H (USA) or S6.99 S+H (Canada). The website is http://si03.com/ I also went to americanspice.com and got some powdered WHOLE milk. It's not the same watery powdered milk that you get in the boxes at the grocery store. This stuff is thick and creamy and really adds to the texture of the protein drinks, which I found disturbingly thin and watery. Another thing I like about the Syntrax is that you can mix as much or as little water with the powder as you want...you can even eat the powder straight out of the container if you feel like it.

I got this book http://www.amazon.com/Bariatric-Foodie-Perfect-Protein-Drinks-ebook/dp/B00BMVSSXW/ref=sr_1_1?s=books&ie=UTF8&qid=1404422573&sr=1-1&keywords=bariatric+foodie+perfect+protein+shakes in preparation.  I have been reading the Bariatric Foodie blog for a while now.  Some amazing protein packed recipes.

Hope you find something you can tolerate!

Get several single-serving sizes of different brands and flavors.  One of them is bound to "not suck" as bad, but don't expect any bliss in flavors for a while.
