I apologize if this is not the correct forum and for the fact that this question may be personal...  However, I am just curious as to approximately how much did you have to pay out of pocket for your surgery.  I know amounts may vary, but I am just looking for a ballpark figure right now.  Thanks, y'all!

My surgery (vsg/ in the hospital 1 night) was over $60,00 (In Washington, DC).  My insurance agreed to the amount of $40,000 and I had to pay 10% ($4,000 ). These amounts were for the surgeon, the hospital and all other doctors/tests.  Every plan is different, some have no coverage, others pay 100%, mine just happened to be--the insurance company pays 90% and I pay 10%.   Good luck on your journey--I can tell you it's the best $$$ I've ever spent!

About $450 for the surgery and hospital stay.  Plus something like $25 per appointment for many of my pre-op and post-op appointments with the surgeon.

My out of pocket was about $3,000.00.  This includes the pre-op testing, surgeons visit, surgery and after care.

My out of pocket was only around $1,000 since I had already met my deductible.   I will get that reimbursed when I file with my hospital indemnity insurance plan.

I have Blue CrossBlue Choice. It covered everything. The only thing I paid for were my $10 coats at each one month Dr visit.

Monthly vists - $0

Pysch Eval - $100

Dietician Visit - $125

Program Fee - $600

Surgery was $29,000, insurance paid $15,000.  Which leaves me to pay 10% still awaiting final bill from the hospital.
