How is life without a gallbladder?

For my surgery the surgeon removes the gallbladder, not because to prevent gallstones but it's in the way (DS.) I'm a revision I had a sleeve already, and I have a gallbladder so he might not need to do based on my current anatomy. I will talk to him about it, but want to know what is life without a gallbladder? I've heard from one person about his friend that doesn't have it, and she can't eat certain foods. Anyone without a gallbladder, please tell me about your diet. I'd prefer to keep a healthy organ, but if it's not possible I want to know what to expect. Thanks a bunch.

I had mine out 6 years ago due to problems. There aren't any foods I can't eat, though I have a friend who has trouble digesting eggs after gallbladder removal.

I still have mine, but I know (literally) a dozen people who have had theirs removed and only one has any problem that I know of, with onions.

I had my gall bladder removed about three years ago, fatty foods were a big no go at first and I still stay away from them.  but I have had no issues with onions or eggs.

No go meaning diarrhea?

Yes the no go is diarrhea,  but it was almost instantaneous.

I had my gallbladder out 13 years ago.  Since then I sometimes have trouble digesting roughage and really fatty foods, especially if I eat a salad full of fiber with a high fat dressing.  Those days are gone so I don't have any issues now.

When you all say troubles, is it vomiting or diarrhea? I'm on the fence as to keeping my gallbladder if I could.

Exactly the same as it was before I had it removed...except afterward (and this was years before WLS) I was able to eat steak, eggs and ice cream again without suffering debilitating pains that would cause me to pass out - literally!
