Carnitine Deficiency and Neuropathy

Is there anyone here that has been dealing with polyneuropathy post gastric bypass.  I am basically bedridden at this point and sought help at a big University in New York where I am finally being evaluated properly.  Although all the tests are not done, I was notified today I have a low Carnitine level and to start supplementing.  I guess I am trying to see if anyone had this, got diagnosed and then got better.  Hoping for a miracle at this point.  I am almost 13 years post gastric bypass.
