Insomnia and VSG

Hello Everyone! I just recently had VSG surgery on 6/2/14. Just wondering if anyone has had any issues with insomnia post surgery? I had had it pretty severely in my late 20's now I am in my late 30's and it has shown up in a big way after surgery.  I find it very hard to get more than 4 or 5 hours a night on a good night. I do work out daily walking approximately 3.50 to 4 miles in an hour per day at around 6am. I work full time and have a home to keep up with. Please advise if you have had this experience. Thanks for the help!

I have battled insomnia my entire life.  However, I've been sleeping really well post-op.  So that's a sweet thing.

Do you feel rested after your sleep?

With VSG, you should be able to take anything.  For what it's worth, the only thing that has ever helped me out of an insomnia flare up has been 5-HTP.  That stuff is amazing.

I. Had it nightly in the four years since my surgery. I recently, and by accident ,found out that it I eat a snack of meat cheese, fruit and a couple of crackers about an hour before bedtime,I won't wake up like I was.

I am wondering if my blood sugar drops in the night and I wake up cause my body wants me to deal with it,idk.

Bear I mind that is am I maintenance,so my snack will. Be different that yours. Cottage cheese mightbe a good bedtime sm

nack,it has trips in in it also, which helps promote sleep.GL
