I just found this website and so far, I LOVE it.  I had WLS about 8 years ago and was originally successful but developed alcoholism after about two years and regained ALL my weight during that struggle.  I'm older now, sober, and take life a lot less for granted.  I want to refocus on my weight loss again. I am totally sedentary and lethargic throughout each day.  I stopped and got a bunch of protein stuff from GNC and I'm plugging into support groups.  (I lived about an hour and a half from my surgeon so I did no follow up after my 6 month checkup.  I have revisited the surgeon to inquire about revision surgery and he is working on requesting my insurance company to pay for it.  In the meantime, I'm going to attempt to do everything that I was lazy about the first time down this road.  People have always encouraged me to start a blog so I do like that portion of this site.  (Although my daughter does tease me that it's really just a word document and I just think it's a blog.)  I'm excited to take control of my life now that I am older and my eyes have seen much more of life.  Please read my blog and I'd love to start interacting with you so I can build my support system.  Thanks!!  Be kind to yourself and to others today!

I wish you luck with your actions. I know nothing about RNY as I have the VSG. I do know I love my new lifestyle. Take care.

Why do you need a revision? Do you know that your band needs one? Just curious since you said you didn't go back to your surgeon.

Hi rlyrech,

Welcome to OH and kudos to you taking charge and saying enough is enough.  Getting back to the basics one, by one is the best plan for success.  Please check out this group, they rock with support and helping with getting back on track.

Congratulations on being sober. That is so awesome in itself. Glad you found this website. I am new too and I will look forward to seeing your progress.
