Hi Everyone
My name is TracyLynn and I am new here pre-op RNY with a surgery date of 07/07/2014. I am guilty of :lurking: around and reading posts and finally deciding to post now. I am sure my story is a lot like many others. I have tried every diet under the sun since I was in the 6th grade (how sad is that?) I am a professional at losing weight..the thing is..I can't keep it off...it comes back bringing its friends, family and extended family...so I end up heavier than I was to behind with each and every time. I was even approved for RNY in 2005 but at that time you had to do the Optifast for a month. I did so well on it...I cancelled my RNY and stayed on Optifast losing 150lbs keeping it off for 5 years. Sorry..just shaking my head because here I am...bigger than I was starting out. The yo-yo diet since 6th grade has taken its toll on my metabolism and it doesn't help that I am now over 40. So here I am! Now is the time to finally do it!!! I start my pre-op diet 6/30/2014. I appreciate any and all support and sure will give it to others!

Hi,
I'm new here too. I'm Angel. I'm just now getting started with my journey. I go to my first seminar july 8th. I'm back and forth on which surgery is the best for me. Mainly because I'm in nursing school and see a lot of scary things. I'm also back and forth on the dr. Not sure if I want to go to Dr. Lelor at wood county or Dr. White in Toledo. My seminar is with Lelor. I'm just wanting to get this done asap. I have paramount advantage insurance and have seen so many different answers to how that works for people. I'm 235 lbs with type 2 diabetes. Please pray all goes well and I get approved!
Hello all! My name is Samantha, I'm from Seattle and have been approved for a RNY that will be happening in August. My surgeon is Thien Nguyen at Overlake in Bellevue, WA. So far, I've had my first appointment with him and have an appointment with his nutritionist next Tuesday.
I'm 31 with a BMI around 42, and was diagnosed with diabetes, PCOS, high cholesterol, sleep apnea and a fatty liver, all recently. I've had many struggles losing and keeping weight off and have thought about WLS for several years. I was recently converted from a contractor to a direct hire at the company where I've been working for 3 years, and their insurance covers the surgery. I found this out about a week after my PCP suggested surgery to me. It seems the stars are aligning in favor of doing this. I also have severe anxiety issues, so I'm worrying myself sick over the idea while simultaneously being excited about it. A feeling I'm sure all of you are familiar with.
I look forward to sharing my journey with you and sharing in the journeys of everyone here!
