5 yrs out
I'm almost 5 and 1/2 years out and am just finishing up re-losing a 40-odd pound regain. I understand that you are trying to start the losing process again, and unlike me, you are not trying to take off any "bounce-back". But I think the process to achieve either goal is very similar.
What worked for me was going straight back to my early postop eating plan. Protein first, then veggies, then a couple of bites of a carb if I wanted it. I'm not gonna lie - at this far out it took longer to lose than it did during my early out years. But our pouches still work, and the eating plan isn't a diet, it becomes a way of life.
Just my opinion, but I would stay far far away from any "diet" and any "diet pills". Our surgery gives us the opportunity to break the diet-regain-diet cycle and allows us to craft an eating plan that we can live with indefinitely.
Best of luck to you in your journey. =)
Thanks for this post Amy. I am 3 1/2 years out and trying to lost 20 pounds of weight gain. I am finding it difficult as I have gotten sloppy with my habits and can also eat more quantity that I could before. I have started tracking again though and do exercise.
it is great to hear from everyone's experience.
thanks, marina
Weigh or measure your portions and track every bite that goes into your mouth.
