New Start

I just received a call from my dr. and I was approved through BCBS, but there is a second approval phase.  There is a second approval for inpatient that takes 24-48 hrs for approval.  Is anyone else familial with this, and has anyone been denied at this stage?  My surgery date is the 17th.

I am not sure but in my case they wanted me to stay two nights but only approved 23 hours I believe. So each day the hospital had to let them know I needed to stay overnight and then it was paid for. They told me that is how it is done.
