It seems the first place my body decided to get rid of fat is in my butt. Now when I am in a plane, I can barely stand up my but hurts so bad. on long haul flights (overseas) its even worse. Has anyone out there bought a seat pad or cusion to use in cars pr planes that they would recomend? I'm willing to spend what I need to get save my tailbone!!

Thanks,

John

Yes. When I lost all my weight, I celebrated by going cross country skiing for the first time ever and ended up with a cracked ****yx to add to my newly bony posterior.  Bad move!

Six weeks later we flew to the Middle East, an eight hour flight. I bought a firm foam cushion specially designed for orthopaedic use; not a doughnut one with a hole in the middle but a sloping one (forward slope) with a wedge cut out of the central back side. I went to a specialist medical supplier; they have them online a *****eaper but I wanted the expertise.

It wasn't expensive, around £30.

I was told the doughnut ones were not appropriate to relieve pressure on the bones.

I used it extensively for flights to India as well, and long bus journeys in Asia. Worked a treat.

Highest 290, Banded - 248   Lowest 139 (too thin!). Comfort zone 155-165.

Happily banded since May 2006.  Regain of 28lbs 2013-14.  ALL GONE!

But some has returned! Up to 175, argh! Off we go again,

Thanks for the advice. I fly to Brazil a couple times a year, and fly with the US every week. It hurts like crazy, but I never thought of the injury potential. I'll check out some medical supply stores in town.
