So my surgeon wants to me to go for a sleep study, not really sure what this means but I'm kind of nervous... Anyone know what it is, still waiting on the paperwork, bc his assistant didn't have any..

Are you pre- or post- op?  He's probably trying to determine if you have sleep apnea.

i did a sleep test a few months before surgery but I was able to do it at home.

I'm pre-op, well that makes me feel better if I can do it at home :) he said he's looking for sleep apnea. He said I tested bordeline for it I the question part. Just waiting for email now.

I had to do 2 sleep studies, both at a sleep study facility. Basically, they hook you up to a bunch of electrodes and monitor your sleep to see if you have sleep apnea or any other sleep problems. You might do an at-home test where you attach some monitors to yourself. If you do it at a testing facility, they may or may not hook you up to a CPAP. My first one they did not, my second one they did.

Nothing to be alarmed about. Likely you won't get much sleep during the test. I went home and took a nap!
