Husband unsupportive of WLS.

So, surprise to me. I had already filled out information packets and what not to go to seminars and all that and found out I was approved for surgery today. My husband called and asked me why I was so low. I told him that I felt like I was missing an opportunity to change not only my life but our life together. I am approved. As soon as I have the money together, I can set up a date and start this journey but I wasn't going to do anything that he wasn't behind me supporting me on. He's my partner in everything and I need him to be there for me during this. And he changed his whole outlook. I guess he needed time to think it over. He is completely behind me 100%. I felt defeated and now I feel.... I don't know, relieved?! Anyways, thank you for all the quick replies and advice. I will definitely be thinking even more on the subject now that I know I have the support I not only need, but want.

I'm so glad to hear that your husband came around. I think their knee-jerk reaction is from fear. Good luck to you!

I wish I wouldn't have waiting so long to do it. I'm 48 and wish I would have done it 10 years ago. Vegas, baby! Have a fun mini-vacation and more importantly a speedy recovery!

Well tomorrow will be a week from sleeve surgery and already down 11 pounds. Loving it! Was walking Vegas Strip next day no down time. Just had to take rest breaks. Good luck

Why did he get so angry? Is this his normal response? Is he afraid if you get thin you will leave him??

You have to do what is best for you. It sounds like you have made up your mind. Do not let him change it.
