I went to tj in jan '07. Loved it!!! Can't say enough good things about it. I used Dr. Ortiz though. I went several times, a couple times alone and always felt safe. Now the taxi rides are a different story lol

I've been blessed amazingly. I lost 175 pounds and doing great. I am very aware that my band is a tool and must be used. I don't always make right choices but I try, relentlessly. If I let up at all I'll have 5pounds on in a couple weeks. So it's a complete life of life foe me, but it's so worth it!

I also put more value on the surgeon rather than the location, so I too am considering a gastric Sleeve in Tijuana with Dr. Jaime Ponce De Leon. I have had one great review of him. Anyone else have an opinion about him?

Wishing you a healthy day,

Royalfreedom

I look forward to your report on your search. I think you are farther along in your investigation than I am.  Also, I am from Canada, so some of the logistics will be different.  I want a surgeon with at least 1,000 surgeries, does a bougie with nothing bigger than 32 F and will start the sleeve no farther than 3 cm form the pyloric valve but they don't have to have a great bedside manner. LOL

So far everything I've seen on him has been great.. He has definitely done over 1000 sleeves and he also instructs/teaches others on bariatric procedures and stays very up to date on modern research for any future bariatric procedures.. I'm not real up to date on the exact science so I'm not sure about the bougie and 32f or where and how long the incisions are
