My surgery was May 29th and I just got sent home June 1st. Fist day was ok second day sucked and today I feel fine. I'm drinking all my liquids as planned, but I don't get that full feeling yet? I just been in and out the bathroom I don't get hunger pains either. Has this happened to anybody where u can eat but you don't get fool? I was told since I'm on liquids that it will do that to me. Then when I get on some solids things will change.

You are not eating, you are drinking .. And depending of your surgery type, your stomach has been cut and you don't have the same ability to sense fullness as you had before.

This is very normal.

Even when you slowly advance to eating, you will likely never feel 'fullness' the same way you did before.

You will no longer eat to feel full, you will eat a measured amount and work towards feeling 'not hungry' .....different from fullness.

You are trying to be satisfied, not full.

Good luck, TRUST your doctors orders, and walk, walk, walk, sip, sip,sip as you heal.

The nerves in your stomach were severed, so it's not to be trusted.  It doesn't know what is going on and anything it tells you is wrong.  This will continue for the first month or so.

You'll start to feel that restriction and sense of fullness once you start eating solid foods and once your stomach heals!

Thanks. Yea I didn't know what to think. I know a couple that had it done and they said they can't take more then like 3 sips without feeling of pressure in the chest or fullness.

I think this is one of those areas where everyone is different.  I've never had any problem with drinking post-op, as long as I didn't try super cold stuff in the beginning.  I can drink cold things now, but initially that was a problem.

Hi...I'm six weeks post-op and I know exactly what you mean. I never felt full or hungry until about week three. I would only eat a couple of teaspoons at a time and had to increase it because I started feeling hungry. To this day, nothing has bothered my stomach...not hot, not cold...to this day I haven't eaten anything (besides fish) that has bothered me. Like people have told you, it's all individual. Listen to your body. It will tell you when you've had enough.

Good luck!

I had my surgery on the 30th, and I was wondering the same thing.  I feel like I drink all day, but not sure when I am full.   Hopefully the solids will help!
