Here's why you don't care
I think this does apply to me, but I weigh myself daily. For someone who weighs much less frequently, this seems like a dangerous trap to fall into. In fact, this is the sort of mentality that set me on the road to obesity - I always thought I still looked fine, even though I was gaining and gaining.

I understand where you are all coming from. I don't discount your need to weigh yourself frequently. I know many get really discouraged in depressed if it goes up a 1/8 lb. What I was trying to help you all understand that even though you may lose weight, you also may be taken off BP meds, diabetes meds, pain meds and a many many other benefits. I didn't say to throw the scale away. Did I? Anyway, the big picture is awesome if you can see it.
It's nice that you're trying to "help us all understand," but perhaps it would help you to understand that your "big picture" is not a shared one with everyone else here.
Which is where replies and discussion are born. Since I'm sure your intention wasn't to imply that the way you see things is how everyone should, I'm sure that the discussion your post generated is a great outcome.

Hi
so what's my big picture? I see this is a hot topic and I'm glad some are open to other perspectives to getting healthy and not focus only on the scale. Some of you are not there yet and that's fine. The scale is a measurement of weight loss. So are your clothes. Peoples compliments and many other positive ways to see your success.
