Stall at 2 wks?
I am post surgery, haven't lost anything the last week. This happen to anyone else? Have no energy.....
To reassure yourself, use the search function ( magnifying glass) to read the many hundreds of posts from people asking about early stalls. Try two week stall, three week stall, no early loss etc..
Very early loss is often followed by a no-loss period as the initial fast loss is from the glycogen store. This is the emergency, quick release energy store, available for flight, fight or famine. Once the body realises that the lack of food is not just a short term emergency, the glycogen store will build up again; you never know when the next sabre tooth tiger may come round the corner. But the reason it is quick access is because it is water soluble and holds around four times its own weight in water. We usually store about 2lbs, so that is over 8lbs in total. So you are eating less but your body is working to store more.
So you are restoring 8lbs but not gaining weight. So, although your scales don't show it, you are using your stored fat.
This only applies to very early on, in the first week or so. After that, we do not use the glycogen store. So it does not apply if you lost a lot pre-op!

Congratulations, you are a week early for the three week stall. It happens to almost everyone. Follow your plan, and you'll do great.

Omg this is happening to me!!! I was feeling a little depress becuz I'm not eating (anything) just very little.. I felt like I should be smaller.. I'm not sure what to do.. I'm just following my plan and hope it changes.
I SO wish OH would put up a 'sticky' about stalls, since no one seems to grasp that the ten thousand threads about the 3-week stall will actually apply to them.
Castine, this is not directed solely at you---please don't take offense. But this question gets asked nearly EVERY day, and probably on every forum every day.
I knew nothing about a 2 or 3 wk stall nor did I know enough to look it up on the site!
