Very SLOW weight loss with plateau's. HELP ME PLEASE!

My VSG was performed on 3/13/14. Since then, I have only lost 28 pounds.  Today was the first time after an 8 week plateau that I lost some weight.  I've noticed much more aggressive results among our community and I'm just wondering - what am I doing wrong? I suffer from chronic pain so I exercise 0-3x per week in the pool and I keep my calories around 600-1000. Has anyone out there shared this type of experience? Any and all replies would be GREATLY APPRECIATED!

You were banded around 10 weeks ago and have lost 28lbs? That is certainly not at the fast end for sleeved people but 28lbs is still a lot of weight!

For people to be able to offer suggestions you need to give more information about what you are eating and drinking.

Highest 290, Banded - 248   Lowest 139 (too thin!). Comfort zone 155-165.

Happily banded since May 2006.  Regain of 28lbs 2013-14.  ALL GONE!

But some has returned! Up to 175, argh! Off we go again,

I saw you were sleeved but wondered what you were eating.

How much do you have to lose?

VSG and RNY both can help you lose about 100 pounds in one year.

Month one - 20 Pounds

Month two - six 10 Pounds a month

Month seven - twelve - 5 Pounds a month

Others may start out quicker, but most people will end up at 100 pounds lost a one year.

I had surgery the same day and I've lost 31.4, which is pretty much identical.  I'm totally thrilled with my loss and my surgeon says I'm doing great.  I don't think I'm doing anything wrong.  I don't think you are either.  Don't compare yourself to other people!

With regard to pain and exercise - I have chronic pain to, along with mobility issues.  But I can do "chair exercises" -- you can find them on YouTube.

You are not having slow loss at all. How much do you have to lose?

Weigh and track your food so you know exactly how much you are taking in. Around 600-1000 is very vague, and you may find you are eating more than you think.

Follow your plan, and the loss will come.

Are you drinking enough water? (54oz or more each day)

Are you eating enough protein? (60-80g)

Are you avoiding carbs? (most recommend 20g or less, YMMV)

Have you been taking your vitamins?

With a March surgery, you've probably had a follow-up or two with your surgeon, or maybe you have another appointment coming up soon. Have you gotten any input from him/her? Have you had blood work done to see if there's anything going on that may need attention?
