Lapband unfill and pain
I had a total un fill two years ago and "Yes" I had a lot of pain, but mostly when they took the fluid out. I had a little discomfort for a couple of days after. If you are having severe pain I would call your doctor and let him know, he may need to see you

It's pretty common with banding. The Vagus nerves are usually the culprit for referred left shoulder pain. I had it the whole time I was banded-severe, debilitating left shoulder pain.
Google -- Lap Band + referred left shoulder pain. There's a lot of info about it out there. The nerves run through the diaphragm and the band's presence can really damage the nerves.
It can get worse (and permanent) if the band is left in after it's already started irritating the nerves, sorry to say. (I had band removal about 9 years ago and still have bouts of left shoulder pain from the damage the band did.)

Hello,
Wanted to you a question about the band, I have gained back about 30lb after band surgery in 2009 was doing really well got down to 179 and was feeling great with the exception of some night coughs. Went in to address that and my Dr. adjusted band. First I had pneumonia twice within 6 months went to see a lung specialist and he told me that it was mostly likely the band. Went back to band dr. and I think that he losen it completely. I then had a XR-UGI done and they said that the band appeared to postioned well but I did have a hiatal hernia and narrowing of th lumen beneath the band. So know the Dr. is acting saying that the band is at 6.5 cc but I have no restrictionat all. I have been approved to have band removed but I and all have to do is see a nutritionist to havesleeve done. Just so upset can't get my focus together. I went through so much to loose the weight I don't have the time at work or the money to go through another surgery.
