OH my god.....that's so rude --- rude rude and thoughtless

That is horrible.I always get a coffee before my meal comes and have them put it in a to go cup.I always want something to drink later.I think I may be cheap also.

My go to line is, "Thanks, but I'm on a really funky diet, so jus****er for me." People seem to be pretty comfortable with food allergies and the like, so if you can play it off like that, it seems to work pretty well. Bonus points if you throw sort of a laugh and an eyeroll in there when you're post-op and eating only grilled chicken while your buddies are eating other stuff, it seems to get a lot of understanding.
