"I want to take fewer pills"

Wow - I take two chewable Flintstones Complete, A sublingual B-12 and a Vitron C iron pill (if I need it - don't usually take it)each morning. I take 3 calcium pills throughout the day (lunch, dinner and bedtime).

I tried the gummy calcium and liked them. Calcium can't be taken with vits so I spread them throughout the day. I don't take B-12 much either as I'm one of the post ops who seems to absorb mine from

food and my levels are consistently super high.  So my pills daily as an RNY patient are way different than yours. I too wanted to get off pills but took far less before surgery too. My doc also allows the baby

aspirin daily if I want to take it but don't usually. I'm healthy and my labs are good on 2 vits and some calcium daily.

Flinstones doesn't have all of the vitamins and minerals we need.  Notably it's missing Selenium I believe.  You might want to search the forums for research on this!

To my knowledge there are no gummy calcium citrate. I would bet that your gummy is calcium carbonate or tricalcium phosphate, neither of which is absorbed well.

If it is calcium citrate, would you let us know the brand? It would be good to know.

At least I know it's possible to take a decent macro picture with my cell phone camera!

I go by my labs to determine my supplements.  I don't want to take things I don't need so I have my labs drawn (usually every 6 months) and if I find myself trending down I up my dosage.  If my levels are in the upper range I sit tight and if they are too high I cut back.  I tweak as needed.  I have to take a lot of calcium citrate and vitamin D due to my osteoporosis and keep a close eye on my iron and protein but other then that things look good.

I don't have every level checked every 6 months, only the ones that need tweaking.  If my levels are good I have them checked yearly.
