Learned a lot post op, things can go wrong.Had an unexpected heart attack last Dec. from too much calcium in my heart arteries, was taking 4 (500 mgs each) of calcium citrate plus what I ate during the day..I am now taking just 3 calcium citrate  500 mgs daily . Cramping when I eat too much sugar (cramping so bad, I can not move my fingers) same with my legs, can't stand up when they cramp up) the pain along with it gets unbearable. Had 2 more heart attacks last April, and here to tell about it.I don't drink enough water. I drink water and everything gets better.

Still riding horses . just call me "BARBWIRE AND ROSES" lol.. I found a new Love  .. I went Tubing down a river for 5 hours for the first time last summer. Will be doing lots more this summer.what fun..I have started Gardening with my boyfriend. started Dehydrating vegetables. I never did these things pre op. Spring is finally here, time to get outdoors. was a long cold winter. Still maintaining all my weight loss .I amaze myself everyday. PeaceV Wendy

Geez, I am so sorry you went through all of this.  You sure are a strong person.  I hope you are 100% now.

I am pre-op RNY.  Can I ask, does the surgeon's office or your PCP monitor your blood for such things?  Kind of scary for me to read that you can have a heart attack from too much calcium.
