Here's how to find some cheerleaders
“You're trying to whittle your waistline but bystanders are bringing you down. Here's how to find some cheerleaders.”
We all know how it can be. We announce that we're going on a diet and every time we eat something that looks the least bit naughty, the self-appointed judges are there to grill you.
"Is that on your diet?"
"I thought you were trying to lose weight?"
"So, you've given up on your diet...already?"
Wow, with motivational talk like that, is it any wonder why we fail.
While it is good to announce your plan, it's better to give them the whole picture and expectations - at least to those who will be around you the most. If your husband knows what the program is, what food it includes, and when you'll be exercising he'll know when you are or aren't following your plan. Also, tell them when you will find it the hardest to stick to the program and ask them for help and suggestions. Maybe your spouse can clean up the kitchen (if nibbling on leftovers is a problem) while you take the kids for a walk. Asking them to be cheerleaders and not guilt-dealers can make all the difference in your success
Good points- support can make such a difference with success and maintenance.
I'm grateful my husband and family have my back, and I did have to make specific requests for how to do that. My husband now eats like me, and does most of the grocery shopping and cooking. The most helpful thing for me is a mutual agreement to not have any junk in the house. Plus we support each other with making sure we each get in our exercise.
He's a trooper, and I'm forever grateful for how we work together.

"Support fosters your growth. If you are getting enough of the right support, you will experience a major transformation in yourself. You will discover a sense of empowerment and peace you have never before experienced. You will come to believe you can overcome your challenges and find some joy in this world." Katie Jay
