Celebrating 16 Years Today

ObesityHelp Staff are celebrating today and we would like for you to join us. 

It was 16 years ago that our founder, Eric Klein, launched ObesityHelp.com.  From January 9, 1998 through today, his mission has always been to the education, sharing of information and the support of our 700,000 members.  Eric was a pioneer when he created ObesityHelp.  ObesityHelp was created before Facebook, Twitter, LinkedIn and YouTube.  Eric had a vision long before these sites were thought of. 

The journey of ObesityHelp through the past 16 years has been rewarding for those of us that support Eric's mission.  ObesityHelp was created, and still remains, dedicated to you, our members.

Thank you Eric and everyone else at ObesityHelp.  You have made a difference in so many lives. Getting to know you all has been life changing.  ObesityHelp was a lifeline preop in 2002 and through the years since a significant source of support and inspiration. 

WOW, 16 years?!  It seems like it was just yesterday when I found OH and it quickly became my lifeline for researching, support and decision making.  OH was key in helping me find the BEST surgeon ever and I made life long friends on line and locally as well.

200 pounds lost and going strong!  Thanks Eric and OH!

Congratulations and a big thank you to Eric, staff and our OH community.  I had surgery in 2001 and as a pre-op and as a long-term post-op, I've obtained so much support from other members of our community.  I've made friends with members and OH support group leaders that I appreciate so much, and have been a huge part of my WLS success.

All of us have a lot to celebrate today.  Looking forward to many more years of friendship, support and education on ObesityHelp. 

 

I found the site on 4-28-2002.  Changed my life and I am happy to be a member of this community.  I owe my nearly 12 years of post-op existence to this website!

I live in Australia, in   a little country coastal village. I am isolated from support groups, and turn to  this site for support, reference and wonderful reading material, I am able to keep up to date with all the information and help I need. 

I look forward to logging on daily, and reading of others' experiences, tips, and ideas/facts.

Wow! 16 years already? That's so amazing! Way to go Eric Klein. You da best. Without this site I don't know where I'll be at this point in my life. I thank you so very much Eric Klein. The staff made this ste even more special. Thank you to everyone who made this site possile.

My most grateful thanks to founder Eric Klein.  I will mark my 10th Gastric Bypass anniversary on January 29th of 2014.  It was the OH site that educated me, meeting Dr. Ganz, Barbara Thompson and other leaders who exemplified the weight loss surgery journey.  But most of all, through my readings on the various sites within OH, I learned much about the surgeries offered 10 years ago.  I learned I would never be the same physically, but that I could truly take back my life.  For this alone, I remain grateful to OH.  in later years, I was privileged to become an OH Support Group Leader.  While I became inactive on the "Boards", I now have a great bricks and mortar Support Group within a local hospital.  I also hold public information sessions each month, to educate those interested in the weight loss journey and the more recent surgeries.  Each time I lead my support group I remember I am there at the head of the table because of my compliance and the information that gave me my start from OH!
