Besides Tylenol, What Pain Reliever Is NOT A Blood Thinner?

I'm having a procedure done & my doctor wants me to stop taking blood thinning pain relievers (Aleve, Advil, etc). The only thing I can think of is Tylenol which is not working for me. Is there anything else?

Ask him what you can take. You're paying him for medical advice.

My surgeon told me that Tylenol is my only over the counter choice.  Forever.  He did say that very rarely I could take one of the others but it should be rare.

That's the only thing available without a prescription.

Yes, unfortunately, all anti-inflammatories (NSAIDs, whi*****lude aspirin) can him the blood, so Tylenol is the only OTC pain reliever.  Your physician can call in a prescription for something like Tramadol which is technically non-narcotic, though.  That seems to be the pain reliever most of us who have had RNY and cannot take NSAIDs end up taking for pain.

Thanks Lora. I didn't want to ask him to prescribe Tylenol with codeine because it's a schedule 3. Tramadol is only a schedule 4 drug so it's probably not as strong. Once my upcoming procedure is over with I can go back to taking NSAIDS but I don't like the stomach trouble it causes. Its probably also has something to do with all the damage from the lap band I had before. Mika

Ok thanx everyone. His office was already closed when this question came to mind & even though it's not an emergency, I wanted an answer now instead of waiting until Monday. So that's why I just asked here instead.

Tylenol may be the only thing without a prescription. This is only for your upcoming procedure right?  Once you are done NSAIDs are ok because you have the DS.
