To be successful, you need to know why you want to be. Make a list of why you want to be healthy. Dig deep, really think about it. Is it to have more energy to spend quality time with your family? To be able to fit into your clothes, to shop in "regular" stores, to live a long, healthy life, to not have to exert effort to tie your shoes, to be able to jog up the stairs, to be able to do sports? Make your list and post it where it can motivate your actions...then just show up to make it happen.
LOVE THIS!!!! I have done this ... my list is made and committed to memory as well as posted in my empowerment journal ... I have been applying and sticking to it each every single day for that past 6 years and 10 months post WLS and loving it ... It WORKS!!! AWESOME thread ... I read your empowering notes every day ... thanks for sharing!!!

Eliminate the pain of back problems and ever increasing joint pain -
Energy to enjoy life
health for a longer life
The ability to buy non slip on shoes (tying shoes without losing my breath)
Hoping for a little joy to come back in my life
Not a vain person and really dont care a whole lot about the benefit of a new look - although I am not naive enough to think my self esteem wont be stronger
I want to make sure I am around to walk my daughter down the aisle when she grows up and gets married
Once I have grand children I will be able to enjoy them as much as they deserve -
there are more but this is my core list for today - pre op appt tomorrow - surgey in two weeks
