Here's how to dress for success
“Even though you've dropped a few pounds, you don't like how you look. Here's how to dress for success.”
We've seen the fashion faux-pas - either women wear too tight of clothing in an attempt to seem thinner (which just ends up accentuating the weight that's left to lose), or they wear clothes that are too big to try to hide the weight. There is a third alternative: wearing clothes that actually fit - not hug, not drape. If you are one of the later, with oversized clothes, and you like the style of them, find a tailor or seamstress and have them altered. It's really not that expensive. If you're in the first category, you may just need to go shopping. If possible, take someone with you who will be honest (and not your sister who dresses the same way as you). For the best fit clothes should not require you to "suck in" anything to get it fastened. They should not be tight, overly loose, but "fitted." If something fits fairly well in all but one area, again, get it altered. By taking the time to find clothes that fit your shape, you'll be amazed at how just wearing the right clothes will make you feel so much more confident, worthwhile, and motivated
Simple Thanks.

Department stores are great for this, especially if you can go during off-peak hours, like early on a Saturday. It doesn't even have to be somewhere fancy with "personal shoppers!"
I go to JC Penney's, since they usually have really good sales, and I usually have wonderful luck finding a saleslady to help me out. When they ask if they can help, take advantage! Say, "actually, I've lost some weight and I'm not really sure if this is going to look good, I was wondering if I could get some opinions?" These are people who watch people try clothes on all day, so they usually have a really good sense of style and what will work. They can go grab things in different sizes and help you find things that look good. :)

Another thing to add is to make sure you have a bra that fits well, for that can complete a great look or ruin it. Shapers are also a wonderful thing if you have jiggly or droopy skin (like me). I get them a size larger, for I want a smoothing effect, not be sucked in like a sausage. It makes a great difference in how the clothes fit, though.

I'm a huge fan of Lane Bryant Balconette bras. I settled into a 36D so I can still get their smallest size by mail order. I tried Victorias Secret and they just don't have the same support, so I went back.
