Those of us who have been around a few years (9+ for me) KNOW about your journey and how you have stayed positive and cheery through adversity.

NOONE has the right to take that away from you.

You are an inspiration, Sarah and there are waaaay more of us *****spect you than those who would ever think of deriding your success.

You are awesome!!!!  You are so right, we all need to stop judging PERIOD!!!

also I find that people that lose a lot of weight forget where they came from.    We all need to gather as a positive family and help everyone achieve their weightloss dream!!

Thanks for this article and I can't wait to read more!!!

I've always felt inspired by you Sarah and I think you're absolutely beautiful and ( of course ) successful .  There are way too many people on the internet  who make themselves feel better by bullying and belittling others ... please don't take THEIR shortcomings to heart .

Their issues are not Your issues .. thank God .

Sarah - I don't get on here as often as I should but wanted to thank you for your posting.  You certainly are a success.  I liken what that person wrote to another comment about a rather "normal appearing gentleman who parked in a handicapped parking place and proceeeded to walk away in a "normal" manner.  I overheard a person say geesh what's HE doing taking up a handicapped parking space anyway?? (Since I happened to know the gentlman and his history I felt the need to rely -Excuse me ma'am that gentleman you just referred to is INDEED in need of the handicapped parking place.  He has only one lung and if you looked closely you'd see he carries an oxygen tank concealed beneath his coat.  He lost his lung ighting in Wolrd War II and is a decorated veteran besides so if I were you I'd thank him not berate him for where he is parking.   She said, Oh.  I didn't know.

So my point is that we ALL should take a look at ourselves before we condemn or speak harshly about others.  You are doing a world of good Sarah in bringing about the knowledge of both lipedema and lymphedema a even obesity in of itself.  The more we know about these disease processes hopefully the less discrimination .  Thank you so much for all you are doing.  Great picture by the way!! You look wonderful!!!

Another "don't get me started" topic! My sister was 20 years old with Aplastic Anemia, which causes very low blood counts, her energy was very low...she had a disability decal...but of course as she stepped out of her car people saw a 20 year old with long blond curly hair....the comments she'd get about parking in the spaces...even with the decal people assumed it must be someone else decal she was using. That was my first experience with people and assumption about decals...that was 1990, she passed away after bone marrow transpant in 1992.

As for me using my decal, oh I'm sure people don't doubt it's my decal but they probably think people should get them for "just being fat". *sigh*

One thing I have discovered about so called "tough love" is the only one that feels better after it is doled out is the one that took it upon themselves to "straighten you out."  They are proud that they are honest and that someone finally told you what you obviously didn't know or you wouldn't have posted that, asked that, or behaved so badly(in their opinion).

Sarahlicious, You look wonderful! You may not have lost every ounce of extra weight, but you have come SO far. Does that person not think you can assess your own body, weight, goals, etc? Those are the same people that think if you are not "at goal" you should hide. God forbid you take a picture!!

Best wishes and happy travels on your journey!

SARAH--I've been an active OH member for 12 years. I like to think/say I can learn something from everyone I come in contact with here-whether they be a starry eyed newbie, or a fellow long time vet...

I have been a nurse 30+ years...I have "known" you, thru OH..for, what...10 yrs? I honestly don't think I had ever known about the condition of Lymphedema, before knowing you. YOU were the catalyst for me doing research/educating myself, etc. Now-when I see the early signs/other stages/etc, in my patients/or even in strangers...I know what it IS..and what it is NOT...

As I always say...when a person shares their info here, he/she never knows how/when/how far that info will reach and what lives that info will touch. TLC should do a reality show about YOU. I would sure watch it !!!
