Completely out of bounds. This is fat-shaming behavior. I wonder how that's worked as a motivational technique for any of our OH members in the past when people used it on them?  If fat-shaming behavior worked then WLS wouldn't exist.

Don't think this kid isn't going to be hurt and deeply embarrassed if all the other kiddos get a "treat" and he gets a "letter". Do you think the kid isn't going to read it?? Hello -- and all it's going to do is tick off his parents who are going to be embarrassed for the kid. This is NOT the way to get the message across.

Better ideas? Don't give out candy at all - hand out pencils, erasers, nickels, dimes, etc. Or be that bummer-house on the block that turns off all the lights and refuses to answer the door. You don't have to participate in a holiday that you feel contributes to childhood obesity.

And if you really want to start a trend, host parties for the neighborhood kiddos where there are lots of fun, physical activities and healthy food options available. Set a good example...but don't appoint yourself the food/fat police for every parent and kid in the neighborhood.

This person is going to end up with a lot of eggs and toilet paper in their front yard!

That is horrible.  Parents don't need other people's opinions about how to raise their children. . . and whom is she to decide anyone's child is obese????

Can you imagine telling a four year old what the letter means. There are so many other things she could give the kids like raisins or something healthy.Or not give anything at all. This is the woman's issue. Not the child.

Sometimes people look intelligent and successful because they dress well, live in a nice home in a nice neighborhood and drive a nice car.  Often they have someone who supports them or a job with a union who protects them.

This lady her is basically stupid and ignorant.  Her actions prove it.  She is obviously an idiot savant. Able to put together an intelligent looking letter, but unable to relate to reality, and give compassion.  I feel sorry for her and especially sorry for anyone who has to live with her or work with her.

I concur with above poster. If someone did this to my child they would get a punch in the face. Shaming and embarrassing children is disgusting. No excuse for it. This person is delusional and needs a stay in the loony bin.
