Woman plans to give letter, not candy to obese kids on Halloween

There was a thread on here last week asking whether we think we should give candy on Halloween - this woman is a ***** but it's not that uncommon for people to think they should give out raisins (sugar by any other name) or dental floss.

Either join in the fun and give out candy or don't - it's not a difficult decision and NONE of us have the right too parent other people's children ...

You are probably wondering why you have this note; have you ever heard the saying, "keep your mouth shut, a**hole?" I am disappointed in you, a**hole of West Fargo.

Your letter is, in my opinion, moderately stupid and should not be sharing letters and embarassment this Halloween season.

My hope is that you will step up as a human being and ration your shaming this Halloween and not allow yourself to continue this unwarranted bullying disguised as helpful health tips.

Thank you.

All these kids committing suicide because they are being bullied!  What does she think she's doing???  That ridicule is going to stick and eat away at some children.  If she thinks obese children and their parents aren't aware of the problem she is delusional.  I really hope some parents stand outside her house and tell the kids not to go there because a mean old witch lives there!

Everyone should boycott her house and leave all the candy there so SHE can eat it all by herself.  Then she can read that letter to herself.

Not sure, many people on f/b are saying this is a very old hoax.

Apparently she gave a radio interview, but she didn't want to be identified by name. (Gee, I wonder why?)

This lady lives in my area & if she is still planning on handing these letters out after all the media attention she is getting, I hope I run across her. I would definitely give her a piece of my mind. I'm hoping the first person she gives the letter to stands outside her house with a poster saying this is the lady handing out the letters for "The fat kids" so she can get more than an earful from many of us angry parents. People kill me thinking they have the right to judge based solely on the outward appearance. These people know nothing about these children & what might be going on in their lives for them to look like they are sitting around cramming chocolate in their mouths all day. When it was shared yesterday via the radio then Facebook, I was livid. Enough ranting. Just ticked off.

Here is the radio interview with the lady that sparked it all. Enjoy!

Here is the thing. A letter isn't necessary. If she is worried about the obesity rate of kids she should shut the heck up and either give away small toys or sugarfree gum or something like that. My hope is that the parents will go through  the candy bag first and just get rid of the letter.

I'd say she deserves the TRICK part of trick or treating.  I can see her house and trees being draped in paper, and then hopefully it will rain!  She's on the wrong side of the tracks in that village.

If she is so worried about child obesity she should start a campaign making school lunches healthier. Also she should start another campaign that eating healthy wouldn't be as expensive as it is. Fruit and veggies can be really expensive. You can buy a boxes of mac and cheese which is so bad for you for 99 cents . I think she needs to get off her high horse. I do believe as parents we need to come together to protect our children but this letter is nuts.Like what the heck is she going to do on Thanksgiving run up and down the street screaming put down that turkey leg.Sorry but this letter makes me annoyed.
