GO FOR THE GOAL!
I started at 342 - and now down to 212 - I will be celebrating my ONE YEAR at the end of the month....i still want to lose about 80 more pounds. Thrilled that I can now shop in regular stores. Depending on the TOP, i am in size Large (about size 12) but have a few tops in size 10 - just depends on the cut of the ARM / Shoulder area. My pant size ranges about size 14 in slacks from Nordstrom or Coldwater Creek as long as they are not slim or skinny. Being just barely 5'5 at 212 i have a lot to lose but some people dont feel that i look as much as i currently weigh as i have been really working out hard since January with a trainer, and now most recenlty doing Krav Maga. So building up pretty good muscles tone - and then i just "squish" the skin into whatever I wear. LOL. LOVE that this was a NSV / GOAL that i reached-it is so much easier to buy clothes - the only problem is while I am still losing, it does get expensive to keep buying new clothes every few weeks as i drop sizes. So i only try to buy things on sale or clearance at this point.... The nice thing about this fall, is that with sweaters, if I buy large, depending on the style, i really think i can wear them all through the season and just change it up with belt , layering pieces, turtle necks, etc.
I had RNY surgery a little over a year ago and this spring was my first time buying clothes from a regular store. I'm now in a size 6 and it still feels weird and temporary, like in a few months I'll be back to my "normal" size (22/24). But I've been having tons of fun buying new clothes. I have to keep telling myself to only buy it if I love it. I used to buy anything that fit and looked decent. Now there are so many choices it's crazy!
