I'm diabetic and I ride horses
I have rode in the past for hours at a time with no problem for the most part...I stopped for awhile because of health issues, well the other day i went riding to try and conquer my fear of harming myself because of plavix i take. Its hard to say what caused the burning on the bottom of my feet after i rode for more than 2 hours.Total time was 3 hours the other day.
I've never experienced burning under my feet while riding horse before ,,and i know diabetics feet burn when on their feet for a long time, I had my feet in stirrups not walking .. the burning got so bad had to stop riding.. any diabetic's here have this same happen while riding horse?.. I wanted to ride all day.. thanks PeaceV Wendy

Just commonsense ( though i'm diabetic too) I would look for some thicker soled lightweight shoes to wear while riding so the pressure from the stirrups can't damage the nerves on the bottoms of your feet .
Maybe not as glamorous as boots .. or maybe U CAN find riding boots with big soles . I love my platform sneakers from Volatile and wear them ALL the time even for construction .. and platform boots in the winter because they keep my feet SAFE
