I just got back from a short vacation with my boyfriend went camping in a tent at a state park.. Here's my story.. I am so dedicated in keeping my weight off .. I Brought  a scale with me to this campground, and weighed my self the same as i do at home, once in morning and once at night..that is the number one thing that has kept me on track, walked to the nearest outhouse and the ground inside worked fine to get a good reading from my scale.. I knew i was going to be doing alot of walking at this campground and did about 3 miles a day every day for 4 days in a row..

OMG the things you can find when people leave a campground ..I have never dumpster dived..but we were bored on our walks sightseeing , the park is actually one that we ride horses at..1 hour drive from home . they have a campground for that as well. called horse camp..I can't ride horse until I get off plavix so it was just the two of us.for 4 days. The day before we got there it thunderstormed pretty bad for 2 days straight and people packed up and left lots of things behind..found a 19 in t.v. in the dumpster and brought it home and  works. also found a small metal fan that works.

I'm not braggin..Just sharing my weight loss maintaining tip...Just weighed myself when I got home, I actually lost 5 lbs in 4 days. . I AM VERY DEDICATED....I am about to turn 56 on JUNE 28th.. what a Journey..The things I have learned....PeaceV Wendy

Personally, I think that weighing twice a day every day is obsessive (and i would never go to he trouble of taking a scale camping!), but whatever works for you.  I don't mean this to sound snarky, but I would like to understand what you get out of weighing yourself twice a day every day.  Do you really think you might have gained weight during the less than 12 hours that have passed since you weighed yourself in the morning?  (You do realize that it takes around 3500 extra calories to gain a pound, right?)  Does it boost your self esteem to get twice daily readings of your weight?  Does it make you feel like you are more dedicated than people who weigh themselves only once a day or once a week?  What do you think might happen if you only weighed once a day instead?

I will be 6 years out in August and I only weigh myself once a week.

You don't drown by falling in the water. You drown by staying there.

Well, that's really cool. I enjoyed that post, especially about what you can find in dumpsters after a thunderstorm in a campground!

So I've not had surgery yet, and may talk myself out of the roux-y.....Is that what you had? If so, what did you eat during your camping trip.

Congratulations . At least you can mount a horse (of course, when you get the okay to do so).
