Fat patients and Fat doctors: impact of weight bias in healthcare

The inability to have a test or treatment is by far worse than any comments from a doctor. I actually had a test at the hospital several years ago, when I went back 2 years later they had actually gotten a new piece of equipment and the table had only a 300lbs limit where as the previous one had 350, so I they could not do the test that day, the woman did have the name/number of another place that she thought had higher capacity table, she was very nice...you are correct have to focus on the nice things. I just share one, and like I said "my favorite" because my sister loved my comment back to him... but there are patients who don't react the same. Some will avoide seeking help if they feel they always get berated or shamed for their weight, instead of understanding and real options.
