Frustrated with vitamin deficiencies
I agree with Holly.. I do know that ferrous sulfate causes contipation, did it to me too. Eating pears and refried beans and drink lots of water will definately stop that contipation...

wanted to also say .. be sure to keep watch of your calcium levels and potassium levels. I just went thru 2 heart attacks because of too high calcium in my heart arteries and too low potassium caused my heart to get weak causing a heart attack..when i had my 8th stent put in surgeon cleaned out my heart artery and gave me potassium thru an I.V. I was so low..

I bet if you sit your ass in his office until he gives you a referral for an iron infusion you'd get one. I staged a SERIOUS sit in when I was having my mystery pain. Told the doc I wanted EVERY test to determine. His response was "what if we don't find anything" my response "well when that happens at least we tried."
He was PISSED and I was PISSED but ultimate HE is MY employee and it's MY body. No doctor is going to be YOUR best advocate about your body.

I don't know how long your follow ups with the surgeon are - mine are five years, and I'm using that time to educate my primary care physician about what I need done and why. Fortunately, she will listen to me. I hope yours will listen to you.
If not, find one who will. Nutritional supplementation is a very important part of the DS, and labs are critical, so you will know where you stand with your nutrients.
Good luck to you!
