I've never dumped - but it sounds like what I've read it is.

Vomiting is not dumping.  It is overeating.  Think of your old stomach as the size of a two liter bottle of soda and your new pouch as the size of the bottlecap on that soda.  It can only hold a little food at a time.  If you put too much in you will vomit it back out.  The fat and sugar in the ham are what causes the cramps and diarrhea.  If the diarreha is bloody then you may have torn the healing pouch or intestines.  Most people stay away from things like ham for several months.  .

Ham was on my list but I think this was fatty. At any rate, lesson learned I will never eat ham again. The surgeon never did call back but I think it was dumping. I took two beano, pain pills and didn't eat for 24 hours and then just very light liquids. Much better today.

There's no reason to say you'll never eat ham again. This wasn't the ham's fault---you simply tried to eat it too soon after surgery.

Just be careful to read or ask how the ham was cooked.  Many are cured with sugary substances and your body is not ready for that, and may never be, as we become much less tolerant to sugar and DUMP.  Boiled or baked ham, Bore's head has some heart healthy meats that are healthy.  I am just starting to eat again, so I am just making assumptions based on the information given to me and read on this site by other members.  Good luck and I hope you are better.
