Two weeks sick leave

I am planning to take two weeks of sick leave after my surgery (Gastric). Do you think I will be healed and able to work? I am a Instructional Aide, so it's not a lot standing or lifting.

Two weeks is usually plenty of time for most patients. It is dependent on how the surgery goes of course. Your surgeon should be able to give you a better prognosis post-op or even pre.

Two weeks will likely be enough time, physically; however, be prepared to feel more tired than usual for up to four to 6 weeks.

Wishing you much success!!!!

IMO - No.  There are a few that bounce back that quickly, but I think it's too ambitious.   I recommend 4 weeks, if only to get your eating and bathroom routines established.

I spent 4 days in the hospital, was on pain meds for nearly 2 weeks.  I was extremely listless for a good 6 weeks, and my recovery was flawless.  When I returned to work at 8 weeks post op, I hit the ground running and never looked back.  Everyone thought I was tough as nails...simply because I gave myself plenty of time to recover.

I took one full week off after my gastric bypass and then worked half days for a week or two.  I have a desk job so that worked out okay for me.  I was more tired than normal and just made sure to get plenty of rest in the evenings and go to bed early to get more sleep in.

Two weeks is fine if you're not on a very physically demanding job.
