You have to remember that getting fit is more like a marathon than a sprint. While you may have one big, long term goal, set small weekly or monthly goals to get you there. This way, you'll be able to track your progress and your smaller successes will keep you motivated. Make sure you celebrate your goals too. Indulge by buying a new nail polish, getting a massage (even if it’s from your spouse), or curling up with a hot tea and a good book.

This is an excellent idea as I have to remember not to look at the ending goal but to break it down into smaller pieces.  Thanks for the post!
