    Happy Valentine's Day everyone

So I went for my post op on Tuesday & everything went great he said I could resume working out but not to go over board ... He said everything looked good, took my bandages off my incisions, told me to STOP drinking protein shakes because they give me diareah he told me to stop for a month and to try to meet my goal through foods ... I STILL have the diareah A LOT ! Oh well, it'll work itself out, my body is still recalibrating itself ..

So today I went to the Diabetes & Nutrition Clinic for my 3 month visit ... I weighed 240 last time they saw me ... I now weigh 214,angry  my blood pressure was HIGH, today it is 120/60 angry My pulse 3 months ago was 100, today it's 74 angry ... THE BEST PART IS I MET MY GOAL angry MY #1 goal was to get my Diabetes under control ... Well PRAISE GOD I want to share with you all that I had my RNY Gastric Bypass on 1/28/13 (Just under 3 weeks ago) My A1C 3 months ago was 8 or 9 (BAD BAD BAD) well today folks it is 5.9% which means I am NO LONGER Diabetic ... She said now I'll have to worry about Hypoglycemia I'll take it Anyway I just thought this may encourage some of you ... I am encouraged & I am very emotional today ... SOO HAPPY thank YOU Jesus !!

Congratulations! Keep up the great work but know that the low blood sugar thing is no joke. You must carefully monitor how you are feeling and check your blood sugar still. I had a Gastric Sleeve and 3 days post Op ,I passed out and my family thought I had a stroke because my face was apparently twisted. The EMT that arrived at my house tested my glucose and it was 40. They started me on glucose drip and rushed me to the ER . I stayed in the hospital for 3 days trying to get my blood sugar stabilized. Every day I check before breakfast and after dinner . My A1 C 3 was 7 last week, but when you are talking and wake up in a hospital it is no rub. Be careful

Thank you ... I am still very discouraged, how long does it take to see results ?? I lost 15lbs pre-surgery and since I have only lost 11 lbs ... She said I did not have to check it BUT I STILL DO !! I am NOT going to stop because it's soo much a part of who I am and what I've done for more than 8 years .. Now I have to worry about Hypoglycemia ... That must have been very scarie for your family and then yourself when you woke up with no idea how or why you were there ...  I check am & pm as well :)

You will loose weight, Once I started walking and burning more calories, I lost more weight. I am usually so hungry that I eat my 3-4 ozs of food at breakfast , lunch and dinner. So I drink plenty water. You will loose the weight once you get moving. Stay focused and take your vitamins and add protein powder to your broth and soups.
