Insurance Question!

O.K. I have been a member here forever and I liked the OLD setting where everything was on the front page, the BMI calculator, and the insurance plug in...now I'm not sure where any of that is.

Alright...to the question.  Does anyone have Fallon Community Select insurance that has gotten the VSG surgery?? I called the office today (insurance co) and they said they cover the band and the bypass, BUT the individual said that as long as it wasn't experimental surgery that she saw no reason for them not to cover it. Hmmmm...anyone??

Also where are the forums for individuals states? or have they done away with that too??

Good morning - I work in health insurance - and FCHP just happens to be one our plans.  I'm on the MH/SA side, so I can't address if VSG is covered.  However, for someone to say "I see no reason why it wouldn't be covered" is just not an answer that I'd be comfortable with.  My best advice is to call back and ask for a supervisor.  You might want to phrase your inquiry something like "I understand that the Band and the Bypass are covered, but what is required for my insurance to cover the VSG".

Look up your policy and read it. I also work in insurance and I do not take anyone's word for my coverage--I read it myself.
