Surgury is TOMORROW MORNING :)
Hey every one :)
I am going in for my bypass in the morning !! I'm soo excited but oh so nervous ! I know no matter what that GOD IS IN CONTROL !! I KNOW the risks and I also know the benefits but it still doesn't take away my fear .. Is there anything that helped any of you through this time when you were down to JUST HOURS no more months weeks or days :/ Please let me know .. There are SOO MANY people praying for me, I can't even say how many, countless .. I truly am blessed & loved !
There IS something else that is REALLY upsetting me & that is that my 14 year old so is NOT allowed at the Hospital due to the flu population of patients they have right now ... I want him near me :'( My neighbor is going to keep him after school the day of my surgery because my husband will be with me until at least 8pm to make sure I am okay ! I don't get it because the Flu does not discriminate I or my husband could pick it up AT the hospital and bring it home to him so what's the difference if he went & picked it up himself ... Makes no darn sence to me ! Any way they HAVE to be 16 to go in the Hospital unless they are a patient, of course ... Anyway any advice would be awesome, thanks

All the best tomorrow. I had prepared for surgery, updated my will, and powers of attorney (just in case), cleaned my house, packed my suitcase and I knew then that I was ready. No matter what the outcome from the surgery, I had done my best to be ready. When I woke up in the recovery room at the hospital, I knew I was back among the living :) So all my preparation is still there, but when I came back home my house was clean, and I slipped back into the sheets and was able to rest.
I pray that you have a calming spirit for tomorrow. Please also note that they will give you either a shot or pill to calm you down before surgery if you get really nervous.

Yes they ALWAYS put the happy relaxing meds in while waiting to go into the OR :) IT HELPS !!! Thank you for your comment & support ... I KNOW I will be OKAY :) My Dr is awesome and he did my lap band and my gal bladder so I KNOW I'll be fine, just a little nervous it's probably because it is HERE :) No more waiting no backing out ...
I just had mine last monday. I am usually the most nervous person around, but my palms didn't start sweating until they unlocked the brakes on my bed and wheeled me off. At that point, leave it to them. They know what they're doing and they will take excellent care of you. Just get up and walk as soon as they ask, even though your stomach feels like it'll explode. Have someone there with you. My husband slept in the room with me for 2 nights. It made the world of difference.
Hi Denise
I am almost two weeks post surgery on Tuesday. The night before I was very nervous but I stayed calm and just knew that I was making the best decision for myself. Stay focused girl you will be fine. All the best to you and keep in touch after your surgery let us know how you are doing. I will be starting stage two of my diet on Wednesday. Sorry about your son that really sucks I had my husband and my middle daughter there with me right until I went into the operating room. All the best.
