Ulcer?

So, I'm being treated by my PCP with rx Prevacid once daily & a "shot glass sized" dose of liquid antacid twice daily.  I'm already feeling better after resting my stomach for 3-days & taking the antacids for two days.  I guess Mylanta and Maalox have been recalled because there is none to be found & not even a place on the shelves for it in three different stores, but Walmart had their Equate brand, so that's what I'm using.

I'm eating better today & trying to get re-hydrated again.  I see my gastric surgeon on Dec 13, so I will make sure he knows of these latest symptoms before then.

Thanks everyone.

I went to ER yesterday & had a CT & was told I had an obstruction.  They weren't in network w/ my insurance, so they transferred me by ambulance to another hospital.  Apparently, the other hospital gave this one the report, but not the CT images, so this one just finished repeating the scan.  They said it depends on where the obstruction is, whether I will need surgery or if it can be fixed with a scope??  Anyway, I should find out the results within an hour & hopefully know the treatment plan.

I feel pretty good again today, but the worst part is that they have an NG tube in.  Nothing is being sucked out thru it, so IDK why it's still in, but they won't take it out until the CT results come back.

So, just before going into surgery last night, I questioned the doc on exactly what was found on CT. It seemed I was hearing something different from every one!! He said he didn't think there was a leak, but basically it was exploratory surgery tp check everything out. What he could tell me 100% at that time was that there was a hernia that was obstructing small Bowel.

after surgery, he said there were no leaks, he fixed the hernia, and my small bowel was still completely healthy, so there was no need for resection. Bad news was that the surgery was "open" so I have another huge vertical scar from sternum to just above belly button

I'm home. Pretty sore, but on the road to feeling better! Just thought I'd touch back here with a quick update.
