Bagel Friday's At Our Office

Our office has a long standing tradition of "bagel Friday's".  It is kind of a reward for making it through the week I suppose.  I just walked through the breakroom and they were calling out to me.  I am working to lose the regain I have from having many bagels and other things.  I was shocked to find out the carb count on those things.

As I walked by I told them "I can't partake of you, you won't help me reach my goal".  They somehow lose the power if you talk to them.  I have continued on to my office and will enjoy some Muscle Milk protein instead.  I can do this!

You can do this. You sound very strong. Just keep reminding yourself they are the enemy and will only make you feel worse for having it

Awesome, good for you!

It feels so empowering to be able to say not to something tempting. No food is evil, but it's really important for those of us working toward weight loss goals to be able to feel as though we are in control of our own destiny.

I went through a period where I was being a lazy post-op and developed a habit of getting a cinnamon raisin bagel every morning with my cup of coffee. Not only was it an empty, carb-laden breakfast that left me hungry an hour later, but it certainly didn't do anything good for my body. I quit cold turkey last January and now only treat myself once a month--never on a work day--I want that bagel on a Sunday morning when I can enjoy it *slowly* and be lazy with my husband.

Enjoy your protein! I am waiting for lunch (chicken with sun dried tomatoes, fresh tomatoes, and broccoli. A chocolate-caramel kashi bar too).

Good job! I know that has to be tough to avoid them. We often have donuts at my work so when we do I tried real hard to avoid the lounge until they are gone.

LOVE IT!

I talk to food sometimes in my head and I will repeat "you do not control me, you do not control me!) and it helps!!

Best Wishes!

It's too bad they don't offer healthier options as well like a nice fruit salad with yogurt.  Then people watching what they eat can have other options.
