Because I track my progress in my digital journal "a picture a day keeps the pounds and the inches away" this is my week last week in pictures .... keeping a total weight loss of 203 pounds one day at a time, one choice at a time ... 5 years 8 months and 23 days post RNY ... loving health and mobility....

I have 2 battery back-ups that I can plug my Cuisinart coffee maker in if it comes to that ... I am just going to hold off on my back-ups though just in case there is an outage I want to hold off and use them as a last resource since the last time Irene left some of us out of power for weeks ... A French press definitely sounds good ... will keep in mind and get one to have handy... thanks for the tip!
Thank you beautiful... my guys including 2 students we took in who missed flights back home and live off campus have polished off the bagels already so I went out early this morning and got 2 dozens more ... go figure ... I seldom if at all eat bagels ... one quarter portion and I am stuffed or stuck for hours and hours until I chuck it ... The wind is worrisome and the worst is yet to come ... there are power outages all over the place already with CL&P ... my carrier is UI and we have power so far ... I cleaned and re-cleaned the house, made sure the pool is securely covered and all patio furniture is indoors ... the windows are all taped securely and now we are shut-in and I am just going to paint....
This is the status in my area so far:
http://www.nbcconnecticut.com/news/local/Governor-Orders-Roa d-Closures-176249391.html
Gov. Dannel Malloy has ordered road closures for all state highways.
The closures will be implemented in two phases.
At 11 a.m., trucks will be prohibited from operating on limited access highways. At 1 p.m., state highways will be closed to all non-emergency related vehicles.
“Residents need to take this storm very seriously. Beginning in the next several hours, wind gusts will begin to exceed 50 m.p.h., making traveling along our roads – especially wooded areas like the Merritt Parkway – very dangerous. We’re doing this in two phases, so that trucks will first be prohibited and then all non-emergency vehicles. If you’re in a non-evacuation area, stay home,” Malloy said.
I am so glad I took a picture under this tree on the Green ... oh my ... it is no longer there .... just saw it on the news ... uprooted... YIKES .... I came in to work today delving through debris and branches but I made it ... at a time when many roads were still closed ... thank goodness the highways are again opened now ... and major clean-up is underway ... lots and lots of damage and many still of power ... we fared pretty well considering.... Thanks for keeping us in your thoughts!!!
Good luck to you and everyone else affected. I'm in Jersey- 2 days off from work- woo hoo! Luckily, I am not near the water- and I still have electricity - now I even have time to see what's going on on OH! So, so far so good...I think this is the first time that I can remember NYC transit being shut down for 2 days- today and tomorrow..No subways, trains..they may even close the GW Bridge and others if the winds are too strong! At least it's not snow this year!
Highway, roads and bridges are closed here... curfews are enacted in several areas starting at 7 pm until further notice ... Metro North and CT transit were shut down since past midnight, Many are out of power already ,, the wind gusts are horrible and the worse is yet to come ... worried about all these trees out here but so far so good... KEEP SAFE!!!
