hey everyone! its been awhile since ive been here because ive been busy busy enjoying all the newfound energy i have! but over the past few days ive come down with a raging cold.. can anyone point me in the right direction as far as what OTC meds i can take to help with congestion and runny nose? ive tried mucinex, and though it seems to help, i feel sort of drunk a little while after i take it.. i dont know if its because im not supposed to take that, or do we need to take less than the "normal" dose thats listed? thanks!

why don't you ask the pharmacist? explain that you've had wls,  and they should be able to point you in the right direction.

You just want to avoid NSAIDS.  Aspirin is a common additive to cold meds, and you want to avoid that and ibuprophen.

I take Walgreen's brand mucinex. Have you tried taking it with a meal?

mucinex make me drunk too.  I stick mostly to the Neti Pot and Tylenol.

My surgeon said Musinex and Tylenol were okay. I have a cold too...I HATE it! Hope you feel better soon
