Hi Sharon!  i am no expert around here, had rny 9-25 but I have jsut finished up with three weeks of clear diet and found some good ways to spice it up.

I made all my broth homemade, so actually it is stock and not broth.  Stock has about 6 gr of protein per cup and has potassium, lots of micronutrients, and electrolytes.  And it tastes really good.

I made traditional chicken stock with chicken bones (the leftover carcass from a roasted chicken works fine, you can also use a whole chicken, it will be higher in protein), veggies like carrots, onions, celery and garlic and herbs.

I also expiremented with a traditional Vietnamese stock which had beef bones, garlic, star anise, and ginger.  Really really really good.  Depending on the stock they may have a small number of carbs but well within my bariatric center's guidelines.  I only ate stock at the end because it made me feel really good and made me feel like I was eating actual food.  You can go online and get lots of tips on how to make homemade stock or sometimes it is called bone broth.  Good luck!  That liquid diet is rough!!!!!

I ate strained chicken noodle soup with a little picante sauce added for some spice.

Broth did not cut it for me ...but good old Campbell's chicken noodle was fine!
